Joe, Alan, and Jinjin came together at Princeton around a shared research question: how can AI help product teams understand the downstream environmental effects of their decisions? Their work brings engineering and environmental science into the everyday choices that shape fashion production.

Joe’s thesis at Princeton explored AI applications for fashion supply chains. Before founding Curbon, he worked on a fintech startup in the MENA region and conducted a 15-city supply-chain tour across East Asia. He has advised the Egyptian government on technology and environmental policy and presented his work at the UN COP27 Conference.

Alan brings enterprise software experience from Workday’s Adaptive Planning division and a computer science foundation from UC Berkeley. His research at Princeton’s Systems for Artificial Intelligence Lab focuses on serving-system optimizations for multimodal large language models. He also teaches systems programming and develops computer science grading infrastructure at Princeton.

Jinjin’s research combines life-cycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, and multi-sector optimization to develop decarbonization strategies. A doctoral candidate at Princeton, where she also earned her M.S.E., she has authored peer-reviewed research in journals including Environmental Science & Technology. At Curbon, she supports the real-time life-cycle assessment engine, with a focus on data traceability and output accuracy.
